Accademia della Crusca, Medicean Villa of Castello

Anticipating the theme of the “Sesta Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo” - Sixth Week for Italian Language in the World - the Accademia della Crusca held an event in the wonderful setting of the Medicean Villa of Castello, where the Accademia itself is housed.

The evening revolved around the public recital of poetic texts from Italian literature, inspired by playful themes like food, parties, youthful life, love, and play.

The patrimony of texts like these is particularly rich in Italian literature, since it boasts texts written both in Italian and in several dialects. It is a thematic and stylistic trend that gives depth and movement to Italian literature and it deserves to be brought to the attention of a large public.
